Included pedal on the board helps to shape tones, introduce wah, and other cool effects. Occasional strange artifacts in some of the presets, but ability to tweak with software can help round out strange sound anomalies. Whether it can stand the test of road abuse can only be analyzed if you've been able to use one for an extended period of time.
A decent number of presets and functionality for folks who don't mind multi-effects processors. If you're into boutique quality sound, you may want to avoid this unit, but if you like the buffet approach, the RP may be for you.
See my prior review--posted See my prior review--posted Actually, I like this unit even less than before. There isn't much to like. Where to begin. As noted in the prior review, this unit died after two hours. I later discovered that using the onboard controls to tweak settings while having it plugged into the computer resulted in a "fatal error" fault--shutting the thing down. Basically the computer editing software is worthless. Even more so, if your computer uses the Vista OS.
And forget about it if you're running any version of Linux. DigiTech claims to have addressed the issue of Vista compatibility with a major firmware and X-Edit Revision.
I just I just spent two hours trying to install the revisions. As I anticipated, the instructions provided by DigiTech's website do not work. The hardware construction is superb. Unfortunately, the firmware and software are worthless. If I had this purchase to do over, I would not purchase this unit. Pass this unit by. There are better units out there which are less trouble.
I have been a guitar player for over 35 years--mainly as a hobby. Sometimes in church. I purchased this unit yesterday from Musician's Friend--needing a good multiFX pedal.
What attracted me to the unit was that it had a USB port for use as an interface for recording guitar on computer--also Digitech provides [through their website] software which allows the user to edit and save patches on computer. The quality of the unit is crap. Change shipping region. Add to Cart. Make an Offer This seller is open to offers. Shipped From. Joined Reverb. Message Seller. Want to Sell Yours?
