Vista monitor settings

Some open an on-screen menu where you can make these adjustments. If you're unsure of how to adjust these controls, check the manual for your monitor or the manufacturer's website. The brightness of most laptop screens can be adjusted within Windows. If you're using a laptop, you can adjust brightness in Power Options. Windows includes a technology called ClearType that is turned on by default. ClearType allows your monitor to display computer fonts as clear and smooth as possible.

This can help make text easier to read over long periods of time without causing eyestrain. It works especially well with LCD devices, including flat-panel displays, laptops, and smaller handheld devices. It's a good idea to make sure ClearType was not turned off for some reason, especially if the text on your monitor looks fuzzy. You can also set up ClearType to work best with your particular monitor. Windows 7 More Need more help? You can also try this guide too!!

Reply 7 years ago on Introduction. Reply 12 years ago on Introduction. This may sound like a stupid question, so please forgive me, but how do I check if my laptop has a graphics card with multiple outputs? The only stupid question is the one not asked! Checking for a video output on your laptop isn't at all difficult. You'll be able to tell very easily be checking to see if there's a port on it that matches up with the monitor cable. Basically, if the plug on the end of the monitor cord fits into one of the ports, then that's most likely the one you're looking for, Additionally, because most newer computers have the ports color coded, the one you're looking for will probably be blue.

The image i've included is rather blurry, but the blue thing is the video output port on my laptop, and it's a 15 pin adapter. Hope that helps!

Seriously though, those gauges take a lot of space! Just did this, and it works! By patricksanford Follow. More by the author:. Did you make this project? Share it with us! I Made It! Remote Control Light Switch by alanmerritt in Arduino. ItsMeFaheem 6 years ago on Introduction.

Reply Upvote. Before choosing your version of Windows, you may want to try the shortcut key combination steps that works with many computers. If you're unable to navigate in Windows because of the flipped display see the steps on unable to navigate Windows.

This method only works with some video cards. If this keyboard shortcut does not work for you, select your version of Windows from the list above, and follow those instructions instead. If you still cannot rotate the screen, delete the Display adapter in Device Manager and reboot the computer to reinstall the video card. Always install the latest Windows updates to keep your video drivers current.

No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information.
