While it was very slow, it did work out quite well for me. I'd rather it be unclear before boarding than not offered at all ;p Did you encounter any issue with using too much data while staying logged in all day? Thank you for the information, this is very helpful! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Forums mobile app. Sent from my 2PYB2 using Forums mobile app. Going on the Grand next week and am eligible for the free minutes. Were you able to upgrade to the unlimited when you signed up on your device, or did you have to go to the internet desk?
I signed up for the mid tier plan in the personalizer and paid for it, but now I am wondering if I jumped the gun and should cancel and wait until I get onboard and see what the upgrade to unlimited price is?
We get internet in most ports though now thanks to Sprint, so I think we can get by without the unlimited on our trip. This might depend on the internet manager.
We've had some great ones and one who was basically a jerk. He did what needed to be done, but blamed the difficulties on my 20something, very computer literate daughter. It made me laugh because on the previous cruise, she and the internet manager got into a highly technical discussion of things that I understood on only a superficial level and they agreed to meet up another time to discuss whatever this was that was of interest to both of them.
I know that whatever had caused the difficulty in the account, it was not daughter's error. From then on, she started taking screen caps to demonstrate to the manager that it hadn't been her issue! The above mentioned ship may be the Regal which had the free unlimited because the promised Ocean Medallion system was not available as promised.
I had heard that they offered earlier cruises free internet to make up for the missing Ocean Medallion system. No luck!! I'm curious to know if the Social Package Unlimited access to the most popular social websites and applications. I think I could live without checking Yahoo email -- especially since I would be able to do that while in ports of call on our upcoming Alaskan cruise.
Any thoughts???? I'm traveling on Ruby Princess in April I am self employed and it would really help me a lot to be able to at least keep tabs on email. You will see an option for internet packages. Click on that. Scroll down on that page until you see this:. Just one more way we'd like to thank you for your loyalty. Thanks so much for the info!! As mentioned above, it was either free minutes or one of the package plans. Interesting that you could watch videos, I will have to try that!
So far so good with browsing speeds :D. I was able to activate and upgrade my package all on Princess Sea, no communication with the internet manager. I was being robbed of minutes on my last cruise with the loading screen going blank and even if I logged out logout. I took screenshots and the internet manager refunded me for most of it. I've tried in the past to use a router and it doesn't work to share princess wifi -- and on Mac at least, you can only use the hotspot settings to share Cell service, not Wifi, so that's a no-go.
I believe the platinum discount can apply if purchased on board on boarding day. Can someone confirm? That way you can discuss the best options. Right, but because I already have wifi purchased included with Princess Plus , I don't know what the cost is for the upgrade.
I don't even see the option when I login since it says I have wifi already. On my upcoming 14 day cruise the upgrade is an additional I do not know if any additional discount is given in OBC once aboard.
You will be offered that option when you first attempt to connect to MedallionNet on board. If one of you upgrades, you will have a total of 5 devices can be active at once. You share your credentials with each other. You can login to a new device and system will note if you are maxed out and ask you which of the other live devices you want disconnected.
I always order a 4-device plan as it costs same as two single-device plans we don't do the PLUS. Currently on the Enchanted Princess 10 day cruise.
Daughter, Elite with the Princess Plus package, decided to upgrade to the 4 device plan. That is what should happen. It will help those who like to hear what should happen actually does happen. A Ruby cruiser who just returned and wrote a review stated that the entire system was down for the full cruise.
I will be sailing the Regal. It is the same price as Plat and Elite as it is for non. So basically, if I buy the unlimited, I gave up my internet package of minutes. I just wish I could give the to someone. If you purchase this, make screen printouts that show you are purchasing this for a 14 day cruise and be prepared to speak with the Internet manager if they try to make it for only 7 days. I guess the only way it would be beneficial to purchase the unlimited package upfront is if you knew you would use all your free minutes in the first 3 days.
A true day cruise should have free minutes for you. A 7-day cruise would have minutes. So if they told you the wrong number of minutes for 14 days, I would not believe other information they told you. As I remember it, you will really get minutes at the start of each segment for a total of free minutes. Is it possible to purchase internet package from personalizer at a per day basis?
I didn't find that option. How much the discount is if purchased pre-cruise? I only need it for a couple of sea days. But if it's a deep discount I would consider pre-purchase it. For the unlimited for example its approx. Thanks for correcting me. I had in my head minutes but I like your comment about minutes for each 7 day segment versus the minutes for a 14 day as I booked.
That would be nice if they broke it up into 2 cruises for your free internet minutes but 1 cruise only for the unlimited. I find that hard to believe but will check it out. They get one per segment even if booked as one cruise including all segments. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community.
